Villagers collect items from Harvesters to help fortify Fernhollow, such as Tower parts, Greystone Mines, Gold and Mana.
How do I get Villagers?
You can summon Villagers by merging Tomes. Merge 3 Tomes to get 1 Villager, and merge 5 Tomes to get 2 Villagers.
What are the different types of Villagers?
The Fernhollow economy is booming, and it’s all thanks to our hard-working Villagers! There are two different types of Villagers: Basic and Premium.
Basic Villagers:
Sorceress
Alchemist
Necromancer
Premium Villagers:
Banshee
Crystal Golem
What’s the difference between Basic and Premium Villagers?
Each Basic Villager will offer 1 energy. For example, if you have 4 Alchemists, they will harvest 4 times before going to rest.
Each Premium Villager will offer twice the amount of energy. For example, if you have 4 Banshees, they will harvest 8 times before going to bed.
*When summoned for the very first time, villagers experience a one-time burst of energy. This burst is the same for Basic & Premium villagers.
How do Villagers recover their energy?
Villagers love Coffee! You give them a mug and they not only recover their whole energy, but they will become faster and work in 1 shift the same amount they would in 6 without coffee!
I would fill Fernhollow with coffee machines if I were the king of this realm!
If you run out of coffee, fear not – it’s nothing a good power nap can’t fix! Villagers can catch up on some well deserved rest in Beds. But where are those Beds?
Houses
Houses have a limited number of Beds. This limit increases as you level up your Houses. Each bed lets 1 villager rest. If there are no beds available, a villager will have to wait in the sleeping queue. (tough 😮💨)
Houses can be purchased in the Shop, and you can merge Houses to a maximum of level 8 (depending on your Castle level).
Level 1: Shabby Shack - 1 bed
Level 2: Homey Hut - 3 beds
Level 3: Cozy Cottage - 8 beds
Level 4: Decent Dwelling - 20 beds - Unlocks at Castle level 5
Level 5: Charming Chambers - 50 beds - Unlocks at Castle level 7
Level 6: Huge Homestead - 125 beds - Unlocks at Castle level 9
You should aim to have the same or a higher number of Beds than the Villagers you have, since each Villager requires one Bed to rest and recover their energy.
Villager Levels
How do I level up Villagers?
Once you reach 160 total Villagers in Fernhollow, they will merge automatically (efficient!). All types of Villagers can reach a maximum of Level 8.
How do I know a Villager’s level?
A Villager’s level is indicated by the different symbols that appear under them:
Level 1 - Nothing
Level 2 - Cyan circle
Level 3 - Cyan triangle
Level 4 - Cyan star
Level 5 - Gold aura, no ground decal
Level 6 - Gold aura + Gold circle
Level 7 - Gold aura + Gold triangle
Level 8 - Gold aura + Gold star
What does a Villager’s level mean?
As a Villager’s level increases, so does their maximum energy – but with a cost. They will also multiply the amount of beds they need to rest BY THREE. (Quality sleep doesn’t grow on trees, but if they did then that means a Villager could harvest it!)
Basic Villagers have the following maximum energy and Bed requirement per level:
Level 1 - 1 energy & 1 bed
Level 2 - 3 energy & 3 beds
Level 3 - 9 energy & 9 beds
Level 4 - 27 energy & 27 beds
Level 5 - 81 energy & 81 beds
Level 6 - 243 energy & 243 beds
Level 7 - 729 energy & 729 beds
Level 8 - 2187 energy & 2187 beds
Premium Villagers will occupy the same number of beds, but will contribute twice the amount of energy as Basic Villagers:
Level 1 - 2 energy & 1 bed
Level 2 - 6 energy & 3 beds
Level 3 - 18 energy & 9 beds
Level 4 - 54 energy & 27 beds
Level 5 - 162 energy & 81 beds
Level 6 - 486 energy & 243 beds
Level 7 - 1458 energy & 729 beds
Level 8 - 4374 energy & 2187 beds
I understand how Villagers work now! But they still aren’t behaving how they’re supposed to…
Even Villagers can be susceptible to strange magic, or Blight curses. If you’re experiencing some unexpected behavior with Villagers, you can take a look at our Known Issues page or reach out to our friendly neighborhood Sorcerers through the Customer Support channels to report an issue.
